Why is a systemic insecticide the best treatment for Rugose Spiraling Whiteflies?

Our team of professionals treat the base of each plant or tree with a systemic insecticide which is taken up into the vascular system of the tree.

Our treatment process is based on not only proven industry research, but also from first-hand knowledge and experience from our neighbors on the east coast.

As with many of these newly introduced insects, such as the ficus whitefly and now the spiraling, the East Coast of Florida seems to go through these challenges first and we have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes. The one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that systemic insecticides are the best treatment for long-term Rugose Spiraling Whitefly control.

Systemic insecticide is the best treatment for Rugose Spiraling Whiteflies because, unlike many insecticides which are applied to a plant's surface, systemic insecticides are taken into the plant, either through the root system or leaves, and become part of the plant's chemical make up.

Because Rugose Spiraling Whiteflies are literally sucking the liquid out of the leaves, they will receive a lethal dose of the product. By using systemic insecticide treatment, instead on relying on contact insecticides, long lasting control can be achieved while reducing the need to constantly spray.

Larue’s Rugose Spiraling Whitefly program is a twice a year service that provides control over your current infestation, as well as protection for the rest of your landscape against future outbreaks, for 6 months at a time.

In addition, a topical application is sprayed on all of the accessible plants to help eliminate the adult whitely present on the tree or shrub. We cannot, however, perform a foliar application on any plant that may have the potential of the product getting in a waterway.

Since we know that there will be other Spiraling Whiteflies present in your neighborhood, and that they will try to re-infest your treated palms, you can rest assured that our products will stop them in their tracks for 6 months after treatment.
