FORT MYERS, FLORIDA (January 18, 2012) Clients of Larue Pest Management can feel even better about the investment they put into prevention of pests and healthy lawns. Now, a portion of the money they spend will also be going to prevention of cancer or helping to make a positive difference in the life of a child. Larue Pest Management announced that, beginning January 1, 2012, a portion of proceeds from each property they service is now going to benefit the charitable organizations, American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Larue Pest has recently added a new page to its website called Larue Donates a Portion of Each Sale to Charity with detailed information about these organizations.
“We realize the importance of giving back, and wanted to help a few organizations that we feel are really making a positive difference,” said Keith Ruebeling, Larue Pest Management. “For every property we are hired to service, we give that customer the option to choose which charity they would like a portion of the proceeds to go towards. $10 from each sale will go towards one of these charities. It’s just our way of doing a small part to help improve the lives of others. It also allows our customers to feel even better about their investment. When someone uses our services or refers us to a friend, they will know that their money is not only helping their lawn and pest control needs. It’s also going to make a positive impact on the life of a child, or helping to prevent and fight cancer.”
Larue Pest chose the American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters because of the positive difference these organizations are making in our community, and across the country. Although the team at Larue felt there are many organizations that are worthy of support, the work of these two charities were causes that they felt very passionate about.
Ruebeling added, “We chose the American cancer society because its a cause that just about everyone can relate to since it effects so many lives. As for Big Brothers Big Sisters, I was asked this year to sit on the local community board and accepted the position. It’s just such a great organization and I felt that what they provide, mentoring for youth, is so needed in our community.”
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is one of the strongest contributors to ensure that research around causes, prevention, and cures for cancer continues and advances. ACS also has a goal of helping people prevent cancer through maintaining healthier lifestyles and getting recommended cancer screenings.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is an organization which provides caring, adult mentors for children ages 6 through 18 who are facing adversity. It is the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, with a mission to “provide children with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever”.
